Captain Charley is a brazen, unapologetic gay Asian-Canadian variety performer, stand-up comedian, script writer & actor who grew up in rural Alberta. His comedic beginnings include creating the Ms. Yen Comic strip series (www.msyen.com) and performing in drag all over North America in various pageants. He won third place at the 2011 Miss Gay Seattle Pageant wearing a sequined silver gown.
Much to his surprise, he placed in the Top 20 on his first try at The People's Champ of Comedy Competition in 2012, out of 60 finalists from across Canada. He has since performed at venues such as Yuk Yuk's, Comedy Mix, Lafflines, the Rio Theatre and the Stadium Club at Edgewater Casino. Captain Charley received rave reviews from the Vancouver Province: "He is beyond charming, he has become the sweetheart that everybody loves, he's so incredibly positive."
